NickyS any chance of sticking a timelapse camera whilst work is going on, similar to the one used when the current set was first "installed" amazing that a news channel can come from what looked originally like a normal office room. But a timelapse of the changes would be rather good to see. Any chance?

Hang on Hang On Hang On.
If their moving to a temporary set I take it there will be different gallery - presumably not with the same technology?
Does this mean we'll get some old N24 version of graphics for a month or two.
I dunno how it all works but surely if their moving the gallery it won't be just a simple case of accessing the system from another gallery because surely the gallery/columbus etc would be turned off while in transit!

There is nothing to say that you can't replicate the system in another studio set up! It would be quite a simple operation - remember Breakfast from TC7 use the columbus automation system to run their packages, and the graphics interface is used in quite a few of the TC's.

Why dosen't News 24 build a totally new studio and newsroom and then move into it on a particular date?
The current N24 set's main problem is that it is so small. Theres too much wasted space in that area behind the desk.
The red walls at the side by the plasmas looks dreadful. It looked far better when the walls there were ivory coloured.

They just need to make use of the space they have which they don't do that well at the the minute.

It's obviously being plonked in the same spot. I'd like to see the cameras facing the other way looking out over onto the newsroom below although how exactly that would work I dunno.
NS
You mean like it used to be ... well you never know
And as to the comment about building it in a whole new area ... there isn't that much space at TVC ..
