Having now seem the clip and Eamonn was next to useless, firstly finding it amusing and then hiding behind Sarah!

Exactly what I thought! I know it's a slightly unnerving situation, but he almost attempted to use Sarah as some form of human shield, cowering nervously behind her. Eamonn's sheer sense of self-interest and self-importance never ceases to amaze me.

Maybe this is a subject more for the lounge, but there are two questions I would pose to the spokesman for Fathers4Justice this evening.

1. Do you believe that putting other peoples' lives and health in jeopardy to support your cause, innocent people who you do not know, is a good idea (as they had flare guns).

2. Do this evening's actions show a logical thought process and maturity and safety that children look for in a father? Same goes for the Batman/Superman protests.

F4J are unfortunately led by fanatics, who do not represent the majority of divorced fathers, and they also don't realise that attention-seeking lunacy will not achieve anything but repraisals.

The look on Eamon's face was that of sheer shock. Sarah reacted by putting an arm around hiim, as a need for protection or a supportive gesture. But that's a discussion for psycologists.

In the few moments they were on air, before the Jet Set caption was put up, they were clearly being told to avoid any danger through their ear, and with the bombardment and deluge of instructions and utter bemusement from the gallery down their ears, they did not forward that confusion to the viewer, and allowed the situation to be resolved as effectively as possible, especially thanks to the fantastic intervention and commentary from "the voice of the balls".

Alan couldn't have handled the situation better IMO. He really is a great guy.

Thanks Asa as always. By any chance did you manage to capture Eamon's interview on Sky News or were you on Eurovision at that point? Laughing

Haha, I dragged myself away from Eurovision for 5mins to capture the interview with Eamonn. The 8min piece including the interview with Guy Harrison is now available http://www.tvforum.co.uk/uploads/BBC%20Lottery%20Protesters%2020-05-06%20Sky%20News.rmvb (13mb)

Regarding the female protester, it was quite clear she wasn't a floor manager, as the lottery logo of the crossed fingers hand was dropped years ago.

Well, from the BBC at least. It's still used on the website and on the adverts.

What was the other event that the newsreader says "..well known event which happened all those years ago with Nick Whitchall(?)"?

I went to TV centre to see the recording for Little Britain in 2004. Now, I don't know how different the set up is for studio recordings but there didn't appear to be much studio security there either. Mind you I suppose the warm-up man, Ted Robbins, was always in the way to avoid any intrusions.

I remember going through the scanner on entry which is very sensible but there definately should be security guards deployed at certain areas of the audience.

Interesting to see Eamonn Holmes brought on as a guest on Sky News and then being asked to interview another contributer, don't think I've ever seen anything like that before but I think it actually worked quite well
