what was he expected to do, beat the living #### out of them, he's the presenter, not security, he got out of the way and let security get on with it, in my mind that was a professional thing to do,

in my line of work, teaching, if there is an emergency i get the kids and myself out of harms way and let the professionals get on with it. be it security or emergrency services.

So you would actually help others and get the kids out of harms way, not just look after number one?

Hiding behind a girl half his size maybe?

Not difficult, though, eh?

After all, your average elephant is half HIS size.

The bold and confident statements you have made here and on MHP Chat (and who knows where else) are not based on anything other than your own unfounded assumptions, and as you have never operated or developed television transmission equipment I suggest you think before you submit posts like that in future.

Last word (from me anyway) on the matter; my "theories" (such as they are) were based on what I have read on this forum in the past. Last year, a thread appeared following a breakdown or other such event and one poster asked, (his words not mine), "Isn't there an 'itsgonetitsup' button you can press when it all goes wrong?" The reply, from one of the resident insiders, suggested it was not as easy as just pressing a button to get a breakdown slide on screen if the need arose.

I have indeed no first-hand experience of operating transmission equipment and at no time have I intended to give that impression. But in my defence I will say all of us have our interpretations of what they read here, and what they see on screen.

Mark and peterrocket - I empathise with your exasperations. Operating a computer day in day out, it would be easy for me to get irritated by less computer-literate relatives, for whom using a printer can be an uphill struggle. So perhaps a bit more understanding is called for?

Would you find it irritating if your less computer literate relatives confidently told all their friends that they had bought a printer that couldn't print the letter R? Would you challenge them on that?

The problem is that you have no experience, or it seems any knowledge, about transmission equipment.... but you still post groundless statements on here and MHP about just that very subject. You've been challenged here a lot more than you have been on MHP

I can watch breakdowns and incidents on TV and generate a fair 'interpretation' of what is happening, but then I have in-depth knowledge about how such technology works. Knowledge of how such systems work gained from comments on the net (maybe equallly as groundless) and what you 'see on screen' is useless.

As you found out with your statements about an announcer on TV Ark a while back, you have to be careful with areas you know nothing about

of course I would, the safety of the children is paramount in any of my work situations, i can't keep the children safe unless i keep myself safe.

if that situation had happened on live blue peter with children in the studio you can hazard a guess the presenters would have got themselves and the kids out of the way pretty bloody quickly.

I worked in a holiday camp years ago and the security guys made it quite clear that in any emergency or security alert you got yourselves and the guests to a safe area and let them handle it.

A few problems with the audience again tonight, but not on the same scale as last week. By the sounds of it audience members were shouting out answers to the questions, which prompted two warnings off of Eamonn.

Yeah, and he sounded serious about it - he was obviously tired and wanted to go to bed.

Or was simply fed up with doing the lottery yet AGAIN and wanted to go out for another HUGE meal.

He could teach John Prescott a thing or two about eating.

Is 'Come and Have A Go' returning in 2 weeks time, after Jet Set finishes next week?
