btw, what's happened to mike ramsden?

Heard him on Radio 1 recently

Yes, looks like he's moved over to Radio 1 Newsbeat. It does sound quite odd when he says: "This is Newsbeat's Mike Ramsden..."

Bit of an odd move between departments, isn't it?

Not really, it's news.... just with more brevity (newsbeat reports have to be no longer than 30 seconds). And geographically they're only about 10 minutes walk apart!

Please concentrate and read the context, he was talking about using capital letters for the logo

I think you know what I mean Larry, to not have a huge logo dominating the screen in full upper case letters.

No I really don't know what your problem is at all.

.... and if the second picture there isn'ta huge logo dominating the screen then I don't know what is!

Did I say I liked the second picture? Laughing

So it has been done, I wasn't aware of it but what I am suggesting is that it should not be done again, ok? I just think it looks better to be in mixed case and sized in a way that is not overwhelming.

By the way, I don't watch NWT I just picked the longest name I could think of.

i still don't understand why they didn't keep with the regional look when newsroom south east collapsed - i believed it was to be called London Live (as in London LIve 94.9) with the maps spinning round. they just scrapped it. unique would be good if it looked any good. this doesn't.

Strange isn't it, a week ago everyone liked that title sequence, now with just the end bit changed it's the worst thing ever in television

I never really liked the look in the first place. But then again it's just news. If you've done the studio, why don't you do the whole thing? The titles could be in colour for a start. Sort the graphics with BBC LDN out. They've put a new vamp there - why not change the entire music? sounds like a rushed and hurried look to coincide with LT

No no, for news you want big F*ck off CAPITAL LETTERS, preferably in bold and as big as possible.

They need to say:
'we are THE NEWS , we are important,'

You don't want namby pamby lower case:
'we are the news , but we could be a programme about cooking'

Well in the case of some of the regions, it may as well be!

Hi,

I was just wondering what is happening to the downstairs of BBC LDN. I wonder if it will not be part of the studio, now that they have a desk upstairs so that they can do intervies etc they don't need the downstairs bit.
Does anyone know?
