Indeed it was... and the composer guy who's attic it was clambered up the stairs to find the male cellist in the nude. Apparently, that's the way he likes to play!

A good story there, DAS, which I've not heard before, despite living in the same street as the attic till about a year ago.

Care to tell us more?

There's not much more to tell... Tim James works from home and on that occassion managed to get the gear into the attic. So the story goes, he went up into the attic, only to discover the male cellist sitting there wearing nowt other than a smile. It transpired that he hadn't been told the cellist preffered to play, well, with maximum freedom.

Which, let me tell you, is a thought that goes through my mind whenever I hear that particular cello cut of the package!

Tim James, that's the name I was groping for. Thanks for that, I'll investigate further!

(By the way, nice to see you posting regularly over at Andrew's place!)

Radio Newcastle have been using the new Jingles for about three weeks. The old ones used the BBC Local theme, but were unsung. Radio Cleveland didn't use the local theme for quite a long time after Radio Newcastle.

There was a short time about two years ago when they revamped the Night Network news jingle, but after about two days it returned to the original one. And up until January this year the Night Network sung jingles from 1989 were still being played out from the Cumbria station's output.

Radio York.. On Sunday Nights it used to air a programme across the North East and Cumbria stations too, but that ended about two years ago (10pm-midnight)

Anyway this Friday is the final Northern Nights, so I expect new jingles for that show have been put off until the new programmes air - the one linked up show being replaced with one on each station instead. Also many of the 7-10pm programmes have been axed to make way for more "minority" programmes on Radio Newcasltle. This seems to have been funded by the weekend news on the Night Network being dropped from after 6pm on Saturday and Sundays.

Yes, Tim James works for Bespoke Music (or did, at least) - he produced Northampton's current set too.

But Mickey Stone was a DJ on Radio Newcastle albeit under his real name Peter Rowell!

Oh right... no wonder I couldn't find any information on him - and yes, he was at HTV too as a newsreader, I found a bit of information on him at TVARK - he's looking very different to how he looked in the "Look and Read" series!

Still is, James, or at least he's still at ITV1 in the West, doing the huge bulk of the morning bulletins.

He was the one who got suspended for a short while over Princess Diana and a "boob"!

Tim James (Bespoke Music) has produced a number of the BBC Local Radio packages but my understanding is that Music 4 produced the new Newcastle imaging - they're the team behind BBC LDN and 3 Counties Radio.
A number of companies produce packages for BBC LR and for the past few years have all had the BBC Local Radio sonic branding (or as some people call them the 'brings'). There is also a set of generic beds (produced by JAM Creative Prods Inc) that many stations also use to compliment their packages.
However a few stations have never used the sonic branding and AFAIK I don't think it is now compulsary to have it. For example Radio Solent use the old LBC jingles (although they have a new version of them) produced by David Arnold Music - a stalwart of BBC Local Radio jingles.
If you're into Local Radio jingles then www.jinglemad.com is the sort of TV Forum of the jingle world if you want more info.
