Has any region other than the East had a change of aston colour a few months back? They changed from light blue with red writing to creamy orange-yellow (not the ivory colour associated with bbc news) with red writing.

Yes, BBC North East and Cumbria changed about six weeks ago, BBC Look North in Leeds changed about a week ago and I also noticed that BBC Northwest Tonight has also had a change. They now seem to be using those colours and red astons for locations and dates.

I've seen pictures of midlands today with very different astons red and yellow gradient in the background, it stretching accross the whole width of the screen, with the midlands today logo on the left, and rings in the background.

Ooh, I like the Midlands Today aston - looks a bit more interesting and more professional than the funny yellow colour aston.... Are they trying it out to transfer to all regions me wonders?

That aston is nice. However, where does the 'live' dog go? In the east, it only pops up now and again on live OB's and it's longer than the normal BBC News 'live' dog so obviously when an aston comes up, they have to get rid of the 'live' dog which I've never really understood. Why don't they make it the same size as the normal BBC News 'live' dog so everything slots into place.

The NWT astons are horrible and quite difficult to read, red and brown dont work well together!
NWT uses the same, but a very slightly different sized DOG, for LIVE, as they do down in London©

Midlands Today have now changed the astons to the cream/red ones like other regions are using, they changed on Monday. The old aston was good, it was nice and colourful!

South Today are still using the blue/red ones at the moment as are Newsroom South East.

I dont Think Newsroom South East will change much untill they split up and the London News program starts up, the aston may change, but we wont be going into full widescreen till the new programme.

I can't wait until the new programme London Live starts - another few BBC Regional News Clips for TV Home!

When is London Live starting? Will Look North (Yorkshire + Lincs) have a new look, 'cos it is good now.

I think (I'm not sure, as I live in the NW) that London Live is starting in the summer - I doubt that Look North will change. I wonder if London Live will have a variation of the current (i.e. blue background with region shape) or whether it will have it's own colour scheme (like Wales Today, Reporting Scotland and Newsline), with it being the capital? Asa will be able to tell us - or Nicky!

Anyone know when London Live is starting?

And, BBC Look North from Leeds doesn't use a Live dog for some reason...!
