I know that most of you are going to disagree, but this is an important matter unlike a cut in the number of frames at the Brits.

Why should we be forced to pay out over a hundred pounds every year? People who dont want the BBC, shouldnt have to pay, and we wont get their services. They will never go subscription, as they know they will get a big reduce in money, and wont be able to take their staff out on trips with OUR money. Its about time it went Subscription or Commercial, then see how it competes with Sky ITV and others.

Count yourself lucky. In the Channel Islands we get charged the same for the license fee as you, yet we can't get access to DAB Radio and so therefore can't get BBC Digital Radio, and we can't get access to Digital Terrestrial, so we can't get access to BBC Three, Four, Cbeebies etc. The only way we can get them is by paying extra for Sky. Now is THAT fair?

Oh, of course. You don't pay for ITV, 4 or five.

Except every time you go shopping.

I don't want to watch ITV, can I please my contribution to advertising refunded? Rolling Eyes

The same reason as those who don't use the health service, fire service, or council housing programme have to pay for these. It's the easiest (and fairest practicable) solution to the problem of how to fund a national broadcaster. If the BBC was funded any other way, then it simply would not be the BBC.

Tough, but why should you be forced to pay it, if you dont want it? Its not at all fair, and especially like Mr-Stabby if you dont get half of the services. So you would rather pay the BBC and have no health service? Hope you rot then.

How can the BBC License be justifyed?

Funnily enough, my new Television Licence arrived through the post this morning.

I can now legally watch television until 28th February 2006, for just £121 outlay. That's £371 per annum less than the £492 I have to pay to Sky for their services.

I'd say it was worth the money, if only for the educational programmes which teach me things like the correct spelling of "licence" and the past tense of the verb "to justify".

Not every word no, but when you start a thread and the word with the most emphasis in the topic title is obviously incorrect, you're the one looking stupid.

Educational programmes, for a start, which would teach muppets like you how to spell.

Since when has this been a GRAMMA FORUM? Or is it just that you are complete nerds, and have nothing better to do?

I take it from that that your brainpower isn't up to a logical and reasoned disagreement with the financial argument in my second paragraph?

Sorry, WHO is it that's a nerd?

Well, to put things into context, last I heard, every man, woman and child in Britain each fund ITV with over £200 every year through products they buy which are advertised on it. Think about it. Surely this makes the BBC really good value!?

I don't have any Children to Educate - Therefore I shouldn't pay for the Education system.

Same Argument - The Country through it's Government have decided that it should have a Public Service Broadcaster - thankfully and it needs to be paid for - Therefore if you have the facility to receive it you should pay for it.

TV license it's the only way.
