i recorded bbc learning zone in the early hours of sunday morning and they had a few errors: first they showed the bbc two paint ident which they were supposed to show at 6:00am but instead they showed at 3:00am in the morning. secondly they showed that bbc2 techincal problems holding slide after the bbc learning zone ident! weird!

It's probably to do with the recent move to Broadcast Centre - it's probably quite a different system to what they used in Television Centre, and LZ is probably automated.

BBC1 and 2 are automated 24/7 and have been for well over 10 years now. Although overnights there is often less of a precense looking after the channel (it's a good opportunity to get stuff done!)

I think the reason quite a few breakdown slides have been seen on BBC ONE and BBC TWO this week is because the new automation cuts to one automatically if a server event doesn't run.

Well I do realise that BBC2 is automated (I've seen these computerised running orders etc.) but what I really mean is that it is automated in the sense that there is significantly less human input overnight.
