BBC Knowledge on DTT

BBC Knowledge disappears from channel 13 on DDT on Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon.

However, there's a broadcast test being carried out on channel 800 (at least from my transmitter) which is still showing the channel right now.

Channel 13 is normally serviced by MUX A (non BBC) and I suspect that the channel 800 feed is coming from MUX 1 (BBC) as it's been mentioned that BBC Knowledge was switching to full time broadcasting from the BBC's MUX.

Any other DTT forum members around the UK got channel 800 if they do an 'Add Channels'?

Did an 'Add Channels' last night, & nothing new came up - will try again now.

Maybe it's a test for interactive? Honestly don't know. It will require extra bandwidth.

Glad to see DTT is getting the full Discovery Channel now! Wings was OK when it started, but when you've seen the same programme 10,000 times it gets a little teadious!!

As reported on my DTT News site, BBC Knowledge is currently testing on multiplex 1 ahead of an official launch from all transmitters from Friday 9th November.

It's available in London on 800 (the 800's are given to channels that don't have another number yet). Although there's no channel name, or EPG info

The distribution network was reconfigured last week to allow for Knowledge to be carried across the country and transmitted by the BBC. The last stage is to re-configure the transmitters hence why not all the country has it yet

When the changeover happens The SDN Knowledge will broadcast a slide instructing the viewer to do a channel re-scan
