Just realised the search is muti-tap which is annoying.

Argh, hate that DOG!

hardly, the dog is tiny. Plus I don't think liberate has T9 built in so it would have to be multitap. To be fair what they've managed with the cludgy software virgin use is quite impressive.

all the content should appear in the Catch Up TV section 'soon'. Not sure if this is a BBC soon or a Virgin Media soon!

Well not for much longer as we’re launching BBC iPlayer on Virgin TV. Soon you’ll find it in Catch Up TV on demand but in the meantime we thought you’d like a sneaky peek of what it will be like! So from May, tune in to any BBC TV channel and press the red button to the watch the best BBC programmes from the last 7 days.

Yes, the DOG is tiny, but seeing as before there were no DOGs on BBC One and Two shows, it's annoying.

And I wasn't suggesting T9, but I remember the old on screen keyboard that would popup on NTL, don't know if they still have it.

Catch up probably but I can't see a reason for why TV Choice would. They're older programmes that are unavailable on iplayer.

Which is why I reckon they could disappear as the BBC concentrate on the iPlayer product.

But then iPlayer is a catchup product. Perhaps TV Choice comes under the Kangaroo banner. Do Virgin pay the BBC for having their back catalogue on there for free?

Good point, as ch4 are involved, maybe we'll get a Kangeroo branded TV Choice section soon

Just had a play with the service tonight. Nice little iPlayer ident - not quite sure why we get a near full length Bikes ident for BBC One shows.

Pretty slow though - press red, press enter then wait an age. It's all good when you actually get in there but doesn't have the immediacy I'm used to with Sky's menus. (Not that Sky's BBCi is any quicker).

I gave it a try earlier on and with a 1st Generation Pace/Cable & Wireless STB is was very very slow, but the overall design of it looks alot better and easier to navigate. Anyway the BBC iPlayer ident was short but sweet, but agreeing with Asa I didn't see the point of having 30 seconds of a BBC Three ident was neccessary.

It's always been the same with the 4oD stuff, always preceded by a full ident. Fair game really that the broadcasters want to get in some form of connection with the branding for their non-linear transmissions.

I was pretty much watching wall to wall 4oD the other night and I didn't think their ident was as long, just the 'Lost' ident and a woman saying something about 4oD and then straight bang into the programme, which was Whose Line is it Anyway before anyone asks.

Oh well at least iPlayer doesn't look like it's been directly recorded from the TV anymore, it looked shoddy at time on 'Catch-up TV', I think I could have done a better job myself then.

i suspect the vo on the c4 ident makes it seem shorter than it is. it's pretty long and i often speed through it these days

It might not look like it has but have you checked any of the BBC News Channel programmes - they have the ticker running across the bottom and clock from the time they went out on the channel! RedBee obviously don't have a clean feed to put on the iPlayer.
