While 'THE BBC' may sound scary, it's probably run by human beings who see no harm in a few hundred people having an interest in their doings, stirring up publicity. However, I can understand that if full, broadcast quality media are available they could be misused. Jamez's dramatic little oration may just be attention-seeking and full of his own self-importance, or it might have a degree of truth to it.

Nevertheless, it is interesting that none of the BBC News people (and I can think of four of them) are confirming/denying that there is such an 'Alice' that lurks in the National News studio.

(Incidentally, she did post the stage/studio name, which I thought the BBC staff weren't keen on....)

Only the politically correct wooses who work at the Beeb are so sensitive about things like that. The threat of another bomb at the Beeb is very very remote.

You have to be joking! 'This website is a load of Bo*****ks, and this is stealing content from the BBC. You must rmover all BBC Content immdiatley.' Yes, that sounds like a professional legal warning from the BBC, doesn't it! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif

Well, put it this way. Matthew obviously has a bit of trouble spelling his name.

Also, for the website, both entries are listed as 'bbc.co.uk' without the www prefix. Both entries have this, pointing to one poster.

They don't call me Sherlock for nothing you know... Wink

This sounds really fishy!

I know! It does sound fishy. I cant see why it is such a high priority at the BBC. We all have a strong suspision that it is something far greater than we could imagine which is why they are trying to remove all traces of BBC material such as sounds, images and videos.

Bizzarre.

I think the BBC (and other companies) should be pleased that there are enthusiasts who want to privately record material which the BBC, ITV companies and the BFI acknowledge are STILL not kept for posterity. I was surprised to find out a few years ago when I interviewed the editor of Central News South that the bulletins were NOT recorded as-transmitted - they keep VHS copies for 30 days (after which they are wiped). Only the reports are kept, or clips of bloomers that they put onto a Christmas tape.

The thing to remember about sites like this, is that the material featured has LITTLE retail value (if any at all) and is not of commercial interest. It is a tribute to the creativity of designers and music composers that have given us little gems in-between programmes that most people overlook. Except us.

Also, we feature clips to illustrate the changing technical standards and practices of TV production and presentation over the years.

Also - aswell as Asa appearing on 'Liquid News', I notice that BBCi have now taken Dave Jeffrey's wonderful Flash re-creations of many BBC idents, clocks, etc. which of course appeared 'illegally', but which are now the 'official' reconstructions on BBCi's 'Cult' section.

The only problem I have with any of our sites is that TV Ark have adverts and programme titles on it. I'm not entirely comfortable with those, and they're not exactly 'presentation'. But still, it represents the kind of programming that was available at certain times in broadcasting history, and pictures like this (or clips, such as, for instance, LWT's 1970 'Holiday Startime') - I would doubt the companies who hold these shows in their archives have even CONSIDERED selling them again.

There is no Matthew Marshall working for the BBC

There is a Paul Baker, a assistant producer working in the Nowich newsroom. Hardly the centre of power even if the post is genuine

Really, they're both wind-up's, trust me. If the BBC come and close you down, I'll personally become everyone's slave for a week.

Although what the BBC guy will think of your email, I don't know...
