OK Max, if you genuinely did 'forget' to add that word then accept my apologies but it didn't sound like it!

I know another sound site whose name I can't remember that had to remove all ITV content because ITV had written to them.  Whether it's true or not I don't know as this was about a year ago.

Alice,

As a fellow employee of Auntie, I think you're unduly worrying about web history monitoring ...

They don't tend to bother unless they think someone is up to no good!

What do you do there, btw? I know a few Alice's Smile

well i have an oppinion on the authenticity of this whole thread, as i beleive most other members do, so i dont really need to spell it out. i have read other threads about copyright in the tv websites forum - which rapidly deteriorated into arguments and personal attacks, and i have a feeling a similar thing might happen here. and im also suprised that it hasnt been moved to the tv websites forum?

I think the BBC are being very childish if this is the case. Especially if you consider, that ultimately we (the public) own most of the BBC. If we all suddenly stopped paying our license fee they'd either dissapear or go commerical.

Why not try to concerntrate on making good telly and not pursuing people making websites in their back bedroom.

What a sorry world we live in, folks.

I think a couple of you have said it already,

Some of the TV Theme site, as most of you will know have had to remove thier ITV content, ok this is annoying but all the site are there, and ITV didnt go around sueing everyone did they. And if the BBC do the same, i doubt very much we'll lose fourm members because their in prision for copyright infingment.

Jamez, I agree with what you have done to idnetz, its better to have safe watermarked content, well done

Asa, I also belive you are doing ok, If the E-mail form the BBC arives then im sure they will be happy once the offending material is removed, but I do think you should try and make it 100% legal so they have no need to 'send the e-mail' and your site will remain open.

(Sorry for any spelling mistakes in any of the above)

You would be particularly annoyed if something you had paid for, and owned, started appearing all over elsewhere.

It's sort of like Jamez and people taking the files from Identz. He has something other websites would love to have, and if he knew something he had was somewhere else - he would probably complain if he knew for certain it came from his site.

Same with Asa and his files too in a way

I have myself had to ask a TV website to remove some of the work I had done, it infact criticised it, so I know what it's like.

Peter

(he never did remove it, told me to go away, but Geocities/Yahoo subsequently pulled not only the content, but also the entire site!)

nah, life is too short.

and i mean, if the bbc start insisting that people remove grabs of their idents and stuff like that, where does it all stop? will every big corporation go around insisting that people remove images and opinions they dont like from other peoples webpages? and if they dont, they'll threaten with legal action?

its all about freedom, man.
