I've never been able to understand why News 24 overnight use the special bed for their headlines at *.00, but why don't they use this at *.15 and *.25 past each hour, and instead the N24 headline bed is used?

Also, why do they use a higher pitch world bed, why not just the ordinary one without the thunderclaps?

Can anyone help me on this question?

It's absolutely pathetic, in presentation terms. I just wonder what those overseas think about it!

i think they use a different overnight vamp to compensate between the two channels e.g. news 24 thunderclaps with world style music.

David is right. The BBC World music is of a slightly faster tempo than News24, so it's a compromise between both channels.

One of the reasons we don't use the thunderclaps at '15, '30 and '45 is because our automation box which plays the vamps & tags can only hold 10 cues at any one time. We use 5 continuously, and 5 are emergency stand-bys
