I suppose as the test cards will be on a "loop" they'll just be accompanied by the usual BBC HD 5.1 stereo tone? Would be nice to have some old test card music instead!

How does the Sky EPG change that is happening on Monday affect manual recordings?

BBC1 HD goes to 141
BBC HD goes to 142 and becomes BBC2 HD
BBC Alba goes to 143

The switch might not happen overnight - Sky EPG changes are *usually* made at about 10am...

A pity they couldn't fit 'Windmills' in to the mix.

Was it filmed in HD?

I've never managed to find out. If it does, I suppose it's another matter whether or not there's a HD version available.

In their last showing, a montage of BBC HD idents has just aired. Currently showing the colour-cycling version of the BBC 2 HD caption...

And probably the only time the Roundabout ident has been seen all this winter too! Sunny ice-cream van a-plenty, but no wintry roundabout! Nice that it was the last one broadcast.

Test card special now playing!

It's a pity the HD Idents were so shortlived really. I guess they were commissioned when it was believed that there would be only one HD channel going forward.

The rotating 'cube' transitions are reminiscent of 1970s BBC 2 which, given the incoming service, is not inappropriate!

They also used a BBC2 branded TCF. Looks like a nod to them if you ask me.

I might dig out my mechanical TV and play them two 30line testcards that BBC HD just recreated.
