Google "Stage Electrics", and look for your nearest branch - call them and ask for a Lee Filter swatchbook to be posted out (they're free).

I've e-mailed their Newcastle office(They have an office in Edinburgh, but no e-mail). A gentleman there called Andy Murray (no joke BTW) replied saying a set would be sent out. Will I be able to view in 3D therefore on my 2009 Toshiba laptop? If so, I can't wait to see what it's like!

The Edinburgh office doesn't actually exist - it merely serves as a phantom base for hire equipment on the Edinburgh Festival.

If you're in Edinburgh and can be arsed heading down to Leith, go to Northern Light on Assembly Street, and you can pick one up from the sales counter.

I tried today (using my best guess at the colours - you can spend 5 minutes trying cyan and red one at a time until the ghost image disappears) and it works great.

PS: I recommended Stage Electrics because I used to work and Northern Light - and I'd sooner an ex-competitor had to pay the postage than my old colleagues Wink

Off topic slightly, but what about making 3D videos for youtube, can these be made on Movie maker, or are there any other, free, programs that can be used?

In addition, on the BBC HD channel, I wonder if they'll put the test card up in 3D?!

The trend (according to BBC Click) in the last six months was 3D (red/green) webcams, and they had some inbuilt software to overlay the two distinct images into one webcam stream - so in a roundabout answer, yes, there will be software floating around - even if its off the webcam makers download page. Often the software is free, as they expect you've bought the hardware.

I still have the Channel 4 3D week glasses, at 4:52 the 3D-ness is very prominent. But on the court, its very errm...yeah eye hurts.

I have them too, and my V+ box still has a C4 3D programme I haven't watched yet!

I will do eventually. When they went out originally I tried watching at work, unfortunately juggling 3D glasses, headphones and looking at a computer screen weren't compatible

No, but its probably a winning act on Britain's Got Talent.

Get a woeful backstory ready.

You mean like they've been doing as part of the 3D section of the promo loop for the past week or two? Smile

You can see it on the video I posted at http://youtu.be/7i20qhXRp7I?t=15m20s
(and also use the sync test just before it to work out how far out of synch the video's gone in the process of posting to YouTube - sorry about that! it's a bit hard to keep these things in check when you're working with such large files on not very good computers)

If the mens final is going to be in 3D on the tv, will the same option be made available for internet viewers?

No. BBC HD doesn't stream online, and the 3D FAQ says it won't be available on iPlayer.

Sort-of related:

I see the online HD streaming trial is ending after today - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/9526615.stm

A bit odd they are ending it now considering Wimbledon finishes on Sunday - why couldn't they keep it for the finals?

That's my Lee Filters swatch now arrived today. So again off topic, what's the best colours to view 3D videos on youtube and elsewhere. Both the colour names and page numbers from the book please!
