Try saving it - it works if you do that. Smile

Yes, I did! That's what I meant - it only buffers when it's online - not on my hard drive!

Actually, I've just been thinking - a while ago, (about a year) they used to use the World News opening titles with the announcer saying 'BBC News next on BBC World' before the top of the hour. Then, they changed it to 'World News next on BBC World'. After they ditched the idea of the News titles, and opted for the Symbol/Ident backing the trailer, they have gone back to saying 'BBC News is next on BBC World'. So I don't think they can make their mind up!

When the 'Next' trail was the one which used the title sequence, voiced by the Asian BBC TWO announcer who's name I can't remember right now, it used to say

BBC WORLD NEWS
       Next

during the day and

BBC NEWS
   Next

during the night, UK time, with the voiceover changing too. It did look very weird, as if the news coming from the News 24 studio was somehow seperate, when it seemed the same, just from a different studio.

Just like the two hours after The World Today being BBC News but in TWT style - weird! And now I'm sure the 2000 GMT BBC World News is making it even more bizzare for World viewers. They should at least come up with a different title for it to show that it's different.

Yes, the TWT style 6am and 7am bulletins are strange - I think they are for the 'European Breakfast', but there will be probably quite a few viewers outside of Europe wondering why they have changed their music! To be honest, I don't know why the TWT bulletin, and the ones following, don't use the World Business and World Sport stings, as they just seem to 'hand over'. I think it would look a lot more professional with the stings. I remember after Christmas on TWT, they played out the TWT World Sport sting by mistake, and it has a TWT jazzed up theme to it - but it looks exactly the same as the BBC News one. Surely they must have a business one aswell, so why not use them?! I have a clip of the TWT sport sting if anyone's interested!

Also, can anyone tell me, during the 6am and 7am bulletins, they use the same break stings (music) as TWT does, but do they look the same on screen as TWT? I mean do they look like the stings used on the TWT programme, or like the ordinary BBC World News break stings?

I have to admit I didn't know they had stings for TWT World Business and Sport, but maybe the reason is simply it's too good for BBC News 24, so they dropped it!Smile

Did anyone see the trailer for BBC Four News this afternoon just before the 1 o' clock news. It features george alagiah walking around talking about the news in a place that looks rather like the National Maratime museum at Greenwhich.

I don't know what it's like on other BBC Local Radio stations, but BBC Essex has been bombarded with BBC Four News ads - starting off with the BBC FOUR theme, and then George talking about how some war turns into a refugee crisis, and how the programme 'allows people space to think' or words to that effect. Very irritating indeed!

Incidentally, do the BBC Local Radio stations make up their own mind on which ads to air - or are they imposed? Essex seems to have loads, Kent virtually none. The Southern regional slot has none, while the East does.

Yes Rob I'd be interested in looking at the TWT Sports Sting - in fact, anything you have regarding BBC World!

Right - here you go!!

BBC World - The World Today - Sport News Sting

That thing is manic. I'm gonna look at the normal one to compare, hmm, are they meant to sound similar.

Why doesn't News 24 use nice stings and nice graphics and stuff hwne it's the more important channel. It isn't fair.

And that break sting is gorgeous, is that boradcast on news 24 or not? Well it must be it's got the clock. I wish News 24 took the World Today instead of brekkie in the mornings. Breakfast should be on BBC One
