To frequent viewers of BBC Four - any idea if the 'Office' idents are still being used?
Unlike the others in the current set, there is more than one variant. I thought they were the best of the bunch, and had the most interesting soundtrack too - but every time I've watched a programme on the channel over the past months at the very least, it hasn't even appeared once.
I'd like to think they haven't just forgotten about it - but seeing as the BBC have for want of a better word, 'wasted' branding packages before by leaving certain symbols / animations to gather dust a while after introduction, it wouldn't surprise me if it has vanished into obscurity; can anyone confirm (or disprove) this?
On a side note; anybody see the special fantasy ident a few days ago? A CG aerial view of glowing UFOs, one of which collides with the box logo. I haven't seen any mention of it here...
I'm not sure what you mean by the 'Office' idents. What are you referring to with this? Do you mean the ident with the books? If so I saw it the other day so is still in use.
As for the spaceship one, think it's been around for well over a year, ever since some special season (well it seems like well over a year).
There has been something weird going on with BBC Four tonight. I too am watching from Mendip. I didn't see the start-up, so can't say if it appeared here or not, but the EPG has screwed up in quite a strange way due to the Proms going over time. Plus, the breakdown slide was needed for a minute during the proms too.
The UFO ident is to go with programmes from the Sci-Fi season which was on at least a year ago. I can't say I know what the office ident is.

In one version, the couple enter the top-right room and the woman spins on the office chair; the other shows them enter the same room but kiss instead.
There may have been a third version; but I'm about 50/50 on the chances of that - I only made 2 recordings (being the 2 mentioned variants), both in 2006.
