And according to the caption, 'may contain strong language'. I find that hard to believe, let me know if you hear any.

Cheers for flagging up the red button option James. Let's face it - there aren't too many poor BBC theme tunes when it comes to sport (though the one they used for the Six Nations before the excellent current one comes close).

The Grandstand theme brings up the question though of "Colin McRae - what's he up to?". Now even as a non-Rally fan I know he's dead!

Excellent programme, although I would have liked more music and less talking, and more actual theme tunes than 'motivational songs'. But, I accept that the programme was for a general audience and not music buffs like me.

Pity that the video coverage automatically switched to the London studio to show Matt Dawson getting ready for his show at 9pm, denying us seeing Murray's conducting attempts. Did this happen on the Red Button too, or just on the Website? In any case, it sounded good, and it is radio and not television, so no real complaints!

Incidentally, I'm in the process of splitting the show up into individual tracks, so drop me a PM if you do want a copy of any of the performances. (The timpani glissando in the Grandstand theme made the evening for me...)

On the Red Button we got the whole programme - and at the end of the programme when they handed over to the news on Five Live, viewers on the Red Button were treated to an encore of The Great Escape.

I must admit I wasn't expecting the motivational songs either - I was expecting it to be all BBC Sport theme tunes - though I must say it was good to hear them perform the old Sport on Two theme Smile

Indeed . . . it was a wonderful programme, despite the slight emphasis on 'inspirational themes'.

It's a shame they didn't play the full Grandstand theme tune, but for me the rousing performance of 'Pop Looks Bach' was the highlight.

Given the involvement of Denise Lewis and Mo Farah, I was looking forward to a big orchestral version of 'Keith Mansfield's 'International Athletics' but, alas . . .

They did a Kermode/Mayo Film Music performance a few months back from the same studio, only recently opened back then I think. It was extremely good, I listened live on Radio 5 MW (which added a certain old school charm to the ambience!) and then watched on the red button later. There was a slightly more high-brow concert earlier in the day for Radio 3 as well, which was also very good.
