BBC I do not know if Nottingham and Tunbridge Wells have separate features and parliamentary shows on Thurs/Sun BBC Two. They are the more recent full regions - and are still more closely affiliated to Birmingham and London respectively I think?
Tunbridge Wells are linking up with BBC South for the Thursday and Sunday programmes. Don't know whether the ident says 'BBC TWO South', 'BBC TWO South East' or just 'BBC TWO'.
Digital satellite and digital terrestrial do get the same feed, except that the regions opt out of it on DTT. If they don't - as happened with Newsroom South East the other week - DTT viewers would see the 'press tv and button 1 etc' message that goes out on satellite, as opposed to the 'we're sorry we can't bring you your regional news etc' message seen on analogue.
I doubt when the regions go on satellite, they'll provide two separate feeds for D-sat and DTT.
They have dropped that message from the D-sat feed, at least the one before the lunchtime edition of UK Today. Now they say 'now more stories from around the United Kingdom' or something like that.
btw, the use of the interactive transponder is provisional? what will happen next year when they need the interactive services for Wimbledon? Is this connected with the relaunch of all the BBC´s channels and the n24 interactive service?
As for the East Midlands region (Nottingham) it joins up with Birmingham and broadcasts Midlands@Westminster.
Also, Midlands Report used to be exactly the same across the two regions, but more and more of them are starting to become independent and broadcasting different versions based on their own regions for the Thursday slot.

Thanks RW.
That sounds sensible - Metropol and whatever BBC LDN do on Thursdays is probably too London-centric. It'd be interesting to know how they do this technically though. I wonder if Tunbridge Wells are sent tapes of the Southampton Shows, or are fed the output of the Southampton TX area - and opt-in to a VTR running in/from Southampton!
In either case I would expect that they could run split BBC Two Idents.
Southampton could run both galleries though, and feed their main gallery output to Southampton's Pres gallery (also used for Oxford opt) and the Tunbridge gallery, if the programme on Sunday was live.

The split announcement on analogue and digital before the 1330 UK Today/Regional opt has been dropped. This is because the analogue area is no longer staffed at this time. The digital area broadcasts on both networks. Therefore there is currently no split announcement, so a safe announcement is made for both networks. (If it is heard on analogue then 'Press TV & Button 1' is a nonsense!)
As for Wimbledon Interactive - who knows. Maybe the use of the current single Interactive transponder is a stop gap.
If (not when I hope!) the BBC decides to broadcast the other English regions it will need at least 1, maybe 2, more transponders. It all depends on sub-opts, if they are on DSat it will need more space!
Current launch plan :
BBC London (Marylebone High St)
BBC North West (Manchester)
BBC Midlands (Birmingham)
BBC North (Leeds)
BBC South (Southampton)
Other regions:
BBC South West (Plymouth)
BBC Channel Islands (Jersey) Sub-opt
BBC East (Norwich)
BBC East (Cambridge) Sub-opt
BBC South (Oxford) Sub-opt
BBC Leeds (Hull) Sub-opt - planned to split fully
BBC West (Bristol)
BBC North East & Cumbria (Newcastle)
BBC East Midlands (Nottingham)
BBC South East (Tunbridge Wells)
(Another TEN regions...)
The BBC may be covering 70% of the population of England, but they are only broadcasting 33% of the different English regions......

Ison,
Am I right in thinking that even on those occasions when the East Midlands has a separate Thursday evening show it's still called 'Midlands Report' (instead of '
East
Midlands Report') anyway?
And that it is preceeded by a [ B ][ B ][ C ]TWO
Midlands
ident seen the same in both regions, where the announcement is suitable vague as to allow for the two different programmes' content?

Nice to hear that the BBC are finally throwing their hat in the ring regarding the availability of their regional services on Sky Digital, despite ITV beating them to it.
But, if UK Today is finishing, what will happen to the opt-outs during Breakfast on BBC ONE? I understood from an earlier related topic on this subject that UK Today bulletins would continue during the Breakfast programme, but that regional opt-outs would appear at other times. Will this still be the case?
