I do have to say this is making wonderful viewing. It would be a lot better if it was Fullscreen, In fact, I'd rather have BBC Three in reduced size, and Parliament in full screen.

I watched snippets today, and I quite enjoyed it actually! Very interesting to see how they done it back in '70. I response to some enquiring how much of the programme is in colour, well most of it seems to be, during the bit I watched only the live link to BBC Plymouth was in B&W.
Very odd beginning or something, computer style text come over the screen saying something like this:
BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...
Election 70
Results, flashes, interviews and analysis
BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...BBC1...
Was this some sort of 1970 EPG??!

This certainly was the first election broadcast in colour on the BBC in the UK. However, I read a while back that the 1966 Election was filmed in colour by the BBC for American news organisations.
Quote:
I think 1970 was the first UK General Election televised after BBC One went colour in 1969 (BBC Two launched a proper colour service in the UK in 1967) Whether the election was covered in colour, B&W or a mixture I don't know - so it will be interesting to see. (Certainly some regions were not colour by 1970)
