After a decade of bumping off cast members at regular intervals, BBC1's spy drama Spooks is itself being killed off.

However, in an unusual move for a successful TV show, it is Spooks producer Kudos rather than the broadcaster that is calling time on the drama, deciding to end the popular security services series "in its prime" with the last episodes airing this autumn.

Shame! However I'm not too surprised.

Another of Elizabeth Murdochs dramas axed from the BBC now Kudos has been bought by Sky. Hustle went earlier this year. Is the Beeb axing Murdoch productions or do the Murdochs want their own productions for Sky?

It's not the BBC who axed the series, it was Kudos. Technically that isn't axing at all, it's just ending a series.

Devastated. It has always been one of my favourite programmes, and one of the only TV programmes that I religiously watch. Any idea why exactly it's going? They can hardly blame a fall in viewing figures.

They just want to go out on a high.

Gutted about this, but echoing what others have said, not entirely surprised. Hopefully we'll see some past characters whom are still alive make a return for Harry's downfall/ending whatever it may be!

Yeah, having less episodes of some of their best shows due to forced budget cuts is part of plans to ensure the BBC are delivering quality first.
