I found the above on the telext service of BBC PRIME , for some reason...

It's interesting to note with BBC World/Prime teletext, is that they actually carry a hell of a lot of UK news, I've even seen regional stories pop up as well!

Presumably the BBC3 promotional video was put together months ago (this whole process seems to have gone on for years) and whilst 60 seconds was still in development.

On Teletext, it was said that we will have to pay more for our licence fee, is this true, or have I misunderstood?

If the worst comes to the worst, I imagine the BBC will simply re-brand the channel BBC3, but would alter its content and audience taget 'in the background' where the government cannot stop them. But they will probably speak to the government first to find out what would be acceptable terms for the channel to be re-branded and re-launched.

That would seem to be a sensible solution, considering Choice has been shifted to such an extent that its target audience is the same as what BBC THREE's would have been. All it needs is a bigger budget and fewer repeats.

But Greg Dyke is determined to get BBC THREE on air next year, and is rethinking the plans as 'a matter of urgency'. I don't believe they will launch the other new channels until BBC THREE gets the go-ahead, as it forms a key part of their 'digital 'portfolio'.
