Just found out BBC Knowledge is 24 hours a day! Why? The BBC has had the go ahead to change the channel's identity so what's the point in letting it have extra hours?

I know ITV Digital viewers only have it on limited times (is that right?) so I could understand them making it like Sky or Cable but why have an extra 6 hours of programming on top of what we get when the channel's finishing soon?

Where does it say on that page BBC Knowledge is going 24 hours?

Up until now ,at the weekend BBC Knowledge closed at 12.00 noon for digital terrestrial viewers, but now it's moved onto the BBC multiplex we're able to get the full weekend service.

That's all it means.

I meant to say that page has all the details but on www.digitalspy.co.uk says it will be 24 hours a day.

Sorry for the confusion!

Having read that, I think it's a misunderstanding on the part of Digital Spy.  The heading says 'BBC Knowledge goes 24 hours', but then mentions nothing of that in the text.  I'm sure the only change is for DTT viewers getting the weekend service, meaning we'll be getting it 'all day, seven days a week' - but 'all day' doesn't necessarily mean 24 hours.

But half of the programmes broadcasted on BBC Knowledge are shown about 4 times a day! Ridicoulas!

I suppose they have to fill 24hours Smile

Plus they probably want to reserve all their new programming for the rebrand to BBC FOUR.

As I said in my previous post, BBC Knowledge isn't going 24 hours - Digital Spy have misinterpreted the BBC press release.

Anyone know why TiVo is under the impression that the other BBC One Nations are available on channels 967, 968 and 969?
The channels were added to the TiVo EPG back in July.

The BBC1 nations are intending to broadcast on these channel numbers, this was decided upon after BBC2 nations came on here. However, there has been a delay in making the Nations available nationwide, reportedly due to rights issues, but the channels are supposed to be there, and may launch soon. Hope that clears it up!
