I was thinking about a new lifestyle, home and cooking programme with news coverage when important evenrts happen. (News 24 simulacast) Like a This Morning, with a bit of talk show and a bit of news.
IT
13.00-14.00 News (National 13.00-13.30, Regional 13.30-13.45, International 13.45-14.00)
I don't quite understand some members' fascination with having a bulletin full of domestic news, followed by an international segment. I personally think the BBC would struggle to fill 30 minutes of air-time with purely domestic news, especially if you're going to have a regional news segment...you'd be treading on the regions' toes by being forced to include minor stories just because they are domestic.
A second point is that a majority of lead stories are international. Nowadays, it is fairly unusual to start off with a purely domestic story - most stories are now happening in a global context. Say, for example, there was a bomb blast in a foreign country, well worthy of the lead. Would you push it back to 13.45, just because it is an "international" story?
Anyway, what I would do to BBC1 is cut the number of DIY/antiques programmes, and include more gameshows, chat shows, sitcoms, and perhaps a live entertainment programme in a similar vein to "This Morning" on ITV. Anything would be better than what we've got now.

still all this talking will get somewhere as the BBC did promise to kill of many daytime show.

If it was up to me, the BBC should have done what RTÉ did years ago, shift all Childrens programmes onto the Second channel, other than weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, all kids programmes are now on BBC2, for 3-4 hours most days! BBC2 is only 'BBC2' for the stuff it provides from 7pm onwards such as Arts, Documentaries, Comedies etc, before that it's just an outlet for repeats, politics, Sport and inherting the Daytime audience from BBC1 with the same style of shows.
Keep the schedule like it is now really....
6.00am CBBC
8.00am CBeebies
10.30am Schools
12.00pm The Daily Politics
12.30pm Working Lunch
1.00pm Schools/CBeebies
2.00pm Sport/Film/repeat
3.30pm CBBC
5.35pm Neighbours
would probably be more suitable, especially as most programmes would be in one place. As for BBC1 keep the schedule as it is now, but be more open to ideas with programmes, ie not wall to wall Antiques, Car boot sales etc, maybe Sitcom repeats, debate shows of the like.

Ok typo there, which is ironic, it should have read "blatant rip off of, This Morning"
It was still a better programme IMHO.

Not exactly a ''rip-off'' but it would have a bit more news and ''how it would affect you.''
