So in terms of TV studios, am I right in saying that Llandaff had:

C1 - Main production studio, Crimewatch, ex Pobol y Cwm, general use
C2 - Wales Today/Newyddion
C3 - ex studio, converted to offices
C4 - seems to have been used for sport recently as a drive-in with a scanner

plus radio Studio 1 can be used at a pinch (Crimewatch used it before Pobol vacated C1)

Is there a comprehensive list of what the new place has got?

Are the OB cameras HD? Or will we be left with SD packages after the move?

Wales 1 is HD, if that's what you meant? Might be missing some context here...

I meant the cameras they use in the field

Ah, more ENG rather than OB. As far as I am aware, they are HD.

BBC Newsgathering has been fully HD since 2013 with the purchase of these cameras https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/bbc-to-add-500-jvc-gyhm650-prohd-camcorders-for-newsgathering

Its another Pebble Mill scenario. The actual studios are fine, purpose built and in nice surroundings. A refit would have sufficed but no there has to be another silly impractical office space with a few studios shoved in. A waste of money.

I'm not sure. It's a 60s building, designed for a different age. Refitting whilst staying on air is pretty challenging, they had a long period of presentation working out of portakabins during one refit.

The new place is probably cheaper to run being a new build to modern energy efficiency standards. I imagine the balance sheet, offset by selling Llandaf for housing, probably compares very favourably to a very significant refurb in place with less disruption to programme making (see the chaos when Plymouth's refurb caused the loss of power for a couple of days)

Absolute nonsense. They're replacing a sprawling old complex built on prime development land with an efficient, central HQ that's purpose built for what is required now. BBC Wales has plenty of studio space at Roath Lock and the office space is far from silly or impractical.

That's all well and good, but the building itself wasn't in great condition. Believe me, you wouldn't want to find yourself working in an office late at night with a storm raging outside, with the wind and rain rattling those old windows for all they were worth. It must have cost a bomb to heat the place too...energy efficient it certainly wasn't! That said, it will be missed by a lot of people who worked there.
