It certainly looks impressive, but I’d imagine it was pretty cheap. They’ve done a floor treatment, put a few panes of glass, some TVs and shoved a couple of desks in there.

It could work at Salford though, there’s a small newsroom just outside the studio they could have a view into. The BBC Sport studio with a street-side view would be even better though, provided they could deal with the issues Daybreak faced.

Surely the BBC Sport studio idea would have a bigger issue than the sun, rather inconveniently, hiding behind the horizon. If the BBC Sport studio faced outside, they'd have to deal with people constantly walking past (or doing something "funny" in front of) the window.

When I went on a tour of MediaCity a few years ago, the tour guides said that it was originally the plan to have Breakfast on the ground floor with a view outside. However, they were concerned about the public getting some ideas, and they couldn't get permission to close off the path.

It reminds me of Sky News’s glass box in a way.

Is that because it’s partially glass and in the shape of a box?

Really not a fan of that desk and them chairs. It’s such an amazing space and it looks like they’ve just plonked a generic circular NBH style desk in the middle, which really doesn’t work in a rectangular studio. Would have preferred to see something a little bit different to suit the studio.

Another preview of the new BBC Wales Today studio at Central Square. Rehearsals appear to be underway:

I think the set looks exceptional. I much prefer the desk to the national one. It also doesn't seem.cluttered. it all looks very clean

I think it looks stunning, and that's just one wall of the studio. Can't wait to see it on air, wish we had a date?

I would say September or October.

If they are doing tech rehearsals at the moment, would that not signal them broadcasting from the new studio in early September?

Dear BBC Wales, please can Points West have your old news set, they arn't proud, they had the old BBC Three set before and it would be nice to have a set refresh this side of the river.
