That's the dreaded 'C-too-high' version that I am pretty sure started off life as a bad SVG vector graphic someone made for Wikipedia to represent the BBC logo on its articles.

*
*shiver* it's still accessible on Wikpedia's image repository. Also, let's not forget the worst offender. Martin Lambie-Nairn himself!
AlexEdohHD13 and denton gave kudos

Yep, that's the one. It's so pervasive even Mr. Lambie-Nairn himself uses it on his own website.

EDIT: Ah you edited your post and beat me to it!

eh, sorry about that. What's odd though is that the version on ML-N's site is fairly high resolution compared to the previous versions on Wikipedia. The mystery deepens...

The file on Wikipedia is a vector graphic (SVG) so can be resized and not lose detail. (Like my signature for example, try zooming in)

But he also uses the 2002 logo for BBC One on top of the balloons. Perfectly plausible he didn't build his own site.

That seems pretty likely. Part of me just wants to believe that he dislikes the dancers Wink

Can I just say thank you for all the kudos on my essay of sorts… genuinely glad people enjoyed reading it. I'm not a brilliant writer so I'm rather chuffed at the number of people who gave it a thumbs up.
