It looks like there may be a gradual reduction of children's genres on BBC1 and BBC2 over the coming weeks before disappearing altogether . . . the listings suggest that from Saturday 1st December there will be no morning CBBC slot. Instead CBeebies will run throughout the morning from 6.00am until 12.00pm Saturday, 10.00am Sunday and 11.30am/11.00am weekdays.
All the CBeebies stuff (everyday from 6am till 11:30 weekdays, 12:00pm Sat and 10:00am Sun) is just a simulcast of the main channel.
The same for CBBC from 3:35pm on BBC One (they show one 30 minute show just on BBC One from 3:05 then join the channel..then split at 5pm as BBC One have Newsround). Although, this is only for the next two weeks - as from 17th Dec (for what looks like the final week) it's a different schedule again.
I'm still wondering, what children programmes can we still see now on BBC2, that are on air since very long time(60s,70s,80s, for instance), except of Newsround and Blue Peter? Thank you.

Top Cat, The flintstone, there on a loop, Dangermouse used to fill that slot back in 2008-11

Not too long ago saw them re-showing episodes of The Pink Panther Show, I'm sure.
So far, the switch has been quite a success from a drama point of view. The BBC have been taking kids drama quite seriously so far, giving them this quite impressive trailer on BBC One Prime time earlier this year.
It was great to see these being treated as 'Original British Drama' which continues with the trails for Rocket Island earlier this week.
One of the new series 'Wolfblood' proved so popular that on the day of it's series finalé the whole afternoons schedule was cleared so the channel could play the entire series before playing the last episode, the afternoon was also filled with cast coming in doing sketches, the puppet do going out on set while filming and a confirmation that a second series had already been commissioned. Seen the series myself and I have to say, it was a very impressive production. Certainly no worse then the likes of Doctor Who and Merlin.
In contrast not as much fanfare around the successor to The Sarah Jane Adventures, Wizards Vs Aliens, but it's connections with Sarah Jane and with Doctor Who ensured that it was always going to do well and a second series was already confirmed before the first one even aired.
So all in all I reckon CBBC is looking pretty healthy without BBC One.
