What do you mean?

It's a site associated with a mailing list - people on that list will understand what I mean.

And what about those of us who don't have access to the MHP?

Join it... I think you can still join it. I joined it many eons ago so not sure if registration is still open as the person who made it, created it as a sort of members-parts of the TV presentation site he created, which hasn't been updated for about 10 years so the design is still stuck in the 90s, but its a great site and a great place to find lots of treasured goodies from the past you won't see on other sites (unless someones ripped it to YouTube, but most of it isn't).

Won't post the link as it is usually (used to be anyway) deleted by mods or admins to keep the site exclusive.

Oh and by the way, there are lots of other goodies uploaded by the same user who uploaded file 9985.

It's not as if Googling "MHP Private Parts" won't work is it?

Well I found it, but it seems to be taking it's time sending me the confirmation code!

Posting that just makes it easier for them.

On a related note.... I seem to remember that some black and white schools programmes simply said "BBC" on the credits rather than BBCtv.

Presumably they were made after the BBC COLOUR logo was introduced?

Yeah - I think the justification was that not many schools have colour tellies! Wasn't TC5 one of the last studios at TV Centre to be colourised as it was mainly used for making schools programmes?

There have been a few programmes of an 'archive" nature show in recent years which clearly would not have had a date on them when they were first shown, but have had a date added when shown recently - for example, the series "The Great War", narrated by Sir Michael Redgrave.

Some ITV companies did, of course, retain "Colour Production" end-caps until the second half of the 1980s: London Weekend Television until 1986 and Thames, remarkably, until summer 1989!

I knew London Weekend Television (and also Granada) kept "colour production" on their end-caps until the 80s, but I had no idea Thames still had "colour production" as late as 1989.

Many of the ITV companies were very different with their end caps, for some, Colour was only removed from the end caps, when the ITV companies had the generic look, which included end boards, see this video for another look http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJkcUWgDC7M

On another note, did anyone notice Top Gears end board from a while ago. See it here from another post http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forums/post669516

Thanks for the links - I remember the ITV generic look too well and I was disappointed at not seeing all the individual companies idents the way they used to be. I know this was also when ITV National Weather started.
