Half way through the story, the music to the Haka ident came on, and the music continued to what seemed to be the whole length of the ident.
Anyone else see tjis?
I'm in the North West, so my BBC region is north west.

I live in the Netherlands and was also watching the BBC News on BBC 1
when I heard it.

Strange, why did it happen?

Yes lol, at first I thought it was on the TV somewhere in the background during the interview! then i realised it was sometime in the 1980's it was recorded Embarassed

How on earth that can happen is anyones guess?

It could happen quite easily - continuity played out the ident with the sound to broadcast.

BBC One Scotland experienced this also... it has happened once before during EastEnders in the days of the Balloon!! However, it went on for longer and included a CA saying "Now on BBC One Scotland..."

Can anyone tell me why Reporting Scotland summarises the national headlines at 1858/59 instead of returning to London? Do all other regions return to the Network for a summary by Sophie or George/Bill?

It just seems odd that they say 'We'll be back a little later with a summary of the headlines, but now we join the news teams around the UK'. But BBC One Scotland never returns!

Happened at the end of Cash in the Attic today too with a burst of the Tai-Chi ident that funnily enough, appeared afterwards!

The English regions do, but the nations don't.

I guess they want more time to do as much local stuff as possible.... and as they have their own pres suites - i guess they can do what they want - and normally do!!!!!!

And do a better job - and I also think it was a sweetener when London said no to a Scottish Six!!!!

If they did a Scottish Six, what would they do at 6:30? Split up itto the Scottish/Grampian regions and do a more local news program?

just a thought... if Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have pres suites which are staffed almost continuously while the main networks are on air, why do they use Birmingham as the emergency network source if TVC goes tits up? Why not one of the nations, for whom it would presumably be little bother to provide a sustaining service?
