BBC NI just upped the ante following The Queen with the regular name-check from the announcing team at Broadcasting House, led by Michael Selby. Always delightful.

But this appeared at 15.10 in NI .
The CA at Glasgow is still on and doing a smashing job.
Talking of rare, I've only seen a sting play out once this year. I'll ask again - Is there any pattern to their use and have I been missing them?
They can be difficult to use on BBC One - timings are tight as it is, and the symbols have a long form-up this year. Generally, the four seconds it takes to use a sting are better used on the symbol instead. (Even then, you'll note that a lot of the time the announcer has to start talking before the symbol has fully formed up. 12 seconds before the announcer can talk is a luxury you can't always afford when you have to hit the news on time!)
I use the stings where I can, though, on both One and Two, as I love them. Some Directors prefer using them more than others. Anyone watching the junctions before Breakfast on network earlier this week would see I snuck a couple in.
Network are making an absolute mess of BBC2. Top Gear on this Saturday with a regular endboard and no time. Backchat is on January 5th and gets a Christmas endboard.
Utterly, UTTERLY clueless!
