Another year, why?
I'm presuming that neither BBC One or Two will change idents in these days of License Fee freezing and Budget cuts, for no other reason it would give some, I'm looking at you Daily Mail, to climb aboard the outrage bus about the cost of changing them.

The question that the channel bosses, BBC Trust and most licence fee payers will be asking is Why should the idents be changed?

They should realise that identification may cost money, but change is for better than worse.
In my opinion they should launch a new look before the summer (before the World Cup/Commonwealth Games/Scottish referendum), but I know they won't until at least winter.

?
What isn't working about the current branding? Change for the sake of it is pointless, and can be as damaging to a brand as much as it can benefit them. Especially with the constant bashing the BBC gets about it's spending, there is no chance of them changing the branding of any channel on a whim.

The BBC could point to the number of relaunches its commercial rivals have had in the same time. They could also do it all in house and spend hardly anything on it to get a bit of good press.
