In an attempt to pre-empt the forthcoming gnashing of teeth and repetitively dull moaning about how early BBC One's Christmas ident is being debuted, I'd here and now like to let you know that it will debut on...

Saturday 13th December 2008
Saturday 12th December 2009
Saturday 11th December 2010

etc. etc. etc.
and then by 2019 it'll be starting Saturday 30th November

It's far too early, we will all be bored of it by next Saturday never mind Christmas Day

If they are going to be putting on christmas idents that early, they should make more than one, that would be way better!

I suspect that next year it may revert to the 19th or 20th, whichever one is the Saturday.

Well I saw the first airing just before Strictly..not much Christmassy about it except the centre bauble tree but its got a fun element about it which is something. Coinsidently the BBC Two xmas ident aired straightafter the first BBC One airing - and very nice it is too.

Well if you preferred last year's they're showing that as well. Interesting to see them showing old and new Christmas idents. But in a strange way it works.
