BBC Christmas Idents

So, it leads on from the 'Next' slides we've been seeing. Merry people unlocking their cars, before knocking on doors, lighting up their house decorations with snow falling and thick. Much better than the Penguin's, or the snowball rolling, but I'd say not as good as last years effort.

I rather liked that ident, pity, for me anyway, the opening shot with the flashing indicators ruin it slightly. The ending is particularly attractive although the soundtrack could do with some tweaking with some choir singing. Overall a 7/10 for BBC One!

Yes, the end is good, the beginning not so great... it took me a few watches to get the car scraping gag.

I've just watched it back seven times. I still don't know what to say about it. It's not crap, but it doesn't have that "oooh it's Christmas" feeling.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think ITV1 just about comes on top for me.

Seeing that idiot during non-festive programmes next week makes me think they should have waited until the SCD final before launching that idiot

Too early as always, but one of the better efforts of recent years IMO and thank god it's based around the season, rather than one particular show. I guess it'll run till the 3rd January.

Will there be more than one Christmas ident on BBC1? I only ask because there was talk of reindeer being spotted on something that was filmed a few weeks back.

Interesting (to me anyway) that they've dug out the special box from when the package first launched for the above promo yet the ident continues to carry the regular one.

Perhaps a break bumper?

I like BBC1's ident. So much better than last years. I still prefer BBC2's though...even if it is the fourth outing.

It's called a 'sting'. No doubt the BBC have made a news version.
