Supermarkets don't have the same restrictions that Wales has stopping them from selling "non-essential" goods in England.

Regional opts still there! Edit: Seems to be just the one though

Just Before it started Levy on Look Hull depressed the hell out of everyone with doom gloom and misery live from Hull hospital. Making viewers feel crap is not going to raise money.

It would’ve been nice if they’d brought back the old 90s themes for the 40th anniversary - both of these were good!

Presumably, they were all from their respective regional news studios?

I briefly saw Riz Lateef doing the London opt on BBC One HD, before I switched over to see the BBC West opt. The LED panels of the BBC London set walls were of course yellow.

Alex Lovell and a medium sized Pudsey bear cuddly toy were seated on the Points West red sofa. The one section of wall that is a projection screen was displaying CiN branding but the rest of the set was the usual printed newsroom backdrop etc.

I bet it didn’t match the massive change of gear as we had on Look North Leeds today

Would have been nice if they'd bought back Gaby too - the highlights show last week highlighted what a mistake ditching her was and I think the transition to the post-Wogan years would have been so much smoother had she remained involved. Indeed that show also flagged up the £45m Chris Evans raised since taking over the breakfast show so perhaps they could have been paired up for the broadcast telethon. I've a funny feeling that partnership might have worked. Wink

Victoria Graham did the South West opt from the suitably decorated foyer of BBC Plymouth.

They need to find the next faces of the BBC, the next Terry Wogan and get them to host the show

This revolving door of presenters isn’t great. You can guarantee out of the 4 hosting tonight, 2 or 3 of them probably won’t be hosting next year

Pre recorded Sally Taylor in the news studio on South, just with a link into a montage.
