This is the second thread for Children In Need, as the other one disappeared! Anyway, did anyone do anything today or over the last few weeks in support of the event? Oh and does anyone have the music for it?

At school 3 boys came in dressed as women to raise money. Of course, the womens costumes mysteriously vanised after an hour.

It didn't take long for a mistake!

The rundown of all the towns they were at, stuck on Belfast!

The BBC North contribution is coming from Doncaster tonight!

Well they have interactive - but the press red logo is all over the phone number dog - very bad planning on someone's part!

And the 'Credit Cards/phone number' section after the Clare Sweeney act was totally slient!

The voiceover man, who's name I can't remember at present, had to step in, and voice the promo himself

Isn't live TV great?Very Happy

'looks absolutely fantastic' Gary? I know you praise everything the BBC do but even I - who pays little attention to TV presentation at the best of times - noticed a rather large p*ss up in the first 2 seconds.

As for that studio... ugh. Looks like they've found some stuff in an old cupboard and stuck it together.

Shoddy Shoddy Shoddy.

I think the yellow text on the red background for the aston crawl looks a bit dodgy.  Interesting choice of font as well, it looks quite nice for the phone number and the live locations, but pretty horrid at larger sizes if you ask me.

(Alan Dedicoat was the name you were after, by the way)

William

(still predicting Southampton as the first regional opt on DSAT)

Hmm...  Not nice - it doesn't line up however I try to watch...

16:9 broadcasters have a real problem with interactive logos which are put on in the set-top box.  It seems it is impossible to make a logo line up with a real bit of picture for all viewers if you are broadcasting in widescreen.

Unfortunately it seems that the broadcasters can't move the interactive logo in the set top box depending on which aspect ratio you are watching in... (If you watch in letterbox on a 4:3 set the Interactive Dog sits in the black bars!)  It looks horrid in both 4:3 centre cut-out and full widescreen, and the logo is also the wrong shape in widescreen (as it is on the BBCi text service)...

If they do this 'i PRESS RED' during the news and on News 24 all the time I'm going to get very annoyed having to continually press the BACKUP button to get rid of it... (A little red i would be enough I think - as Sky do with their single little red dot)

Also - in true CiN fashion the evening has already provided a number of interesting moments... Dodgy sound balancing in the studio and to/from OBs.

(Though I am glad A1 don't sing live that often after hearing them at Doncaster Shocked )
