Seems more like a Holby type show rather than a soap.

Hmmm. Is there an echo in here?

This programme seems to be more an equivalent to Casualty than Neighbours.

I quite enjoyed that <"pulling anorak on" emoticon>, shame it was dropped by ITV. Still NZ's favourite programme AIUI Smile

Shame there couldn't show Sons and Daughters, or country practise etc....

Look what happened with S&D on Channel 5. "Commercial pressures" forced it into a slot where the channel shouldn't be on air anyway. While BBC1 would not have commercial considerations, whether any re-runs would get a higher audience is anyone's guess.

I'm actually quite surprised BBC1 have gone for another Australian soap to replace Neighbours, especially after the Breakers debacle.

Me too - I bet this new soap will flop.

I wouldnt mind seeing A Country Practice again, I loved that series when I was a kid. HTV Wales were showing it in the 3.25pm in 1991, between the afternoon news and the start of CITV, replacing Sons and Daughers so I used to watch it after school, then it moved to 5.10pm where it stayed until the end in 1998. Although it was considered quite tame compaired with other aussie soaps of its time like Sons and Daughters and Prisoner, it dealt with some controversial issues.

I don't think BBC1 are intending to show those sort of repeats again - although I remember as a kid, alongside Neighbours we had Flying Doctors, Dallas and Knots Landing.

All saints is very old and not great really. What they should do is show old stuff like Flying Doctors and Country Practice THIS would get the viewers. Flying Doctors in the later series was co produced by the beeb anyway so not expensive to re-run I would say. They have no idea the BBC. Being a publically funded channel they should ask the viewers, do they ever though !

Can i just say that this is not a replacement for Neighbours, that was confirmed to me today. It will air in the 2.35pm slot following on from Doctors. Neighbours is still planned to air until Spring 2008.

All Saints is not a daily soap/drama so therefore does not fit what the BBC are looking for in terms of a replacement for Neighbours.
