Well if I remember correctly TV Centre is to be heavily renovated and modernised to bring it up to modern standards (most of the building is 60s/70s stuff with wires hanging out the windows). This is to happen after BH is finished.

Yeah, there are parts of TV centre that have gone seemingly untouched since the 1960's.
The main reception has been under redevelopment since that thread about it way back in April. Not sure when it's due to be finished...
A bit off topic, where did the BBC newsroom and reception area used to be before the current building was built?
the TV newsroom and studios were in an adjacent part of the building, the radio newsroom and studios were at Broadcasting House.
TV Cente didn't have a public reception area as it does now, the main gates were the entrance from the street and what is now called 'Stage Door' was reception.
They are doing something to TVC. I was outside it a couple of weeks ago and looked at a planning notice and it said something about a new installation (possibly windows). I even went into reception area (I was trying to find the BBC shop) and I bought a coffee from the little kiosk in there.

Yes, as it says above, it's all to do with when the bomb went off. They're installing a second layer of windows, to provide greater protection. They've already done a similar thing on the first floor, where news is based, and the second floor, where sport is.
