It would be nice to see Studio A used by more network shows for the BBC. It is a reasonable size studio, working floor space around 5,000 Sq Ft, and I remember it being used very well for the sitcom Give My Head Peace. Maybe a few more network shows should use it.

To clear up any doubt...
Studio B output, including Viz straps etc (i.e. Astons), has been HD for a couple of years now. And yes, the Newsline DOG is SD *sigh*.

Studio A uses an HD OB scanner for multi-camera facilities (though there are some permanent lighting/vision facilities inside).

Studio A has been used for various multi-camera shows (Nolan, GMHP, Spotlight Special, Ask Rhod Gilbert, etc), PSC shoots like Millie Inbetween, the Arts Show, promos... and for radio sitcom recordings, etc.

When not needed for use with the studio the OB scanner covers local sport, and also gets some use outside of NI... one example, it has been used on a live EastEnders episode.
Markymark, deejay and Steve in Pudsey gave kudos
