How the f**k does someone interpret this as "The BBC says I can go to house parties"?

"Us" is more vague where as "Britain" suggests a greater sense of collective responsibility.

Plus ‘Bringing Britain Closer’ would have been a lovely alternative expansion of the BBC acronym.

What about 'Bringing Britain Closer and those in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man can *#&% off' Laughing

It would seem appropriate for the ‘British Broadcasting Corporation and those in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man can *#%& off’. Wink

It’s a 90” trail, Idris Elba, nice enough, if a little somber

No because in that case, 'British' refers to the origin of the organisation Wink

If they're using Idris Elba people will probably think it is for Sky.

Why would a Sky ad be on the BBC?

That was uplifting.

Not a huge fan of the poem they've used - been a bit of criticism in recent days that survivors are seen as fighters and successful and this seems to go with the line that those who don't are "failures" and"quitters".

It's ok. But tweaked BBC One idents would have been ten times better.

I liked it. Fair play to the BBC. It’s a great initiative. I do agree with Brekkie’s point though. We’re all fighters in this situation we find ourselves in, nobody should be seen as a failure.
Brekkie, Whataday and Lynetwork gave kudos
