I'm with Juicy Joe on this, I think the choice of wording is clumsy. Taglines like "bringing us closer" and "together at home" are unhelpful when you consider there's a huge problem with friends meeting together at house parties.

And that doesn't make me a precious snowflake before anyone says. At times like these we need clear and concise marketing that doesn't try to be clever, leading it open to interpretation.

Channel 5 is using the Government's Stay At Home/Protect The NHS/Save Lives slogan and that's far more effective.

Couldn't they at least go with "Bringing Britain Closer" to get the backronym right.

Brilliant. Clearer, concise, but beyond the realm of anything I'd expect from BBC 'Creative'.

How is it any clearer? It's more specific for no particular reason, and it's slightly less concise than what the BBC went with.

I feel the wording was chosen knowing that - within the context of the times - everyone is aware that people are physically distancing, but the BBC is bringing everyone together despite this.

"Us" is more vague where as "Britain" suggests a greater sense of collective responsibility.

That's my take on it, and I don't expect you to agree with me for a second so I don't intend to waste time debating it further.

It's a very simple and easy to understand slogan - the BBC is bringing people together.

It doesn't mean that they're going out, rounding people up shoving them in close proximity.

Plus ‘Bringing Britain Closer’ would have been a lovely alternative expansion of the BBC acronym.

It's almost as if someone else has mentioned that already.
