Can anyone tell me why this week, the Breakfast titles etc. have all been positioned low down on the screen with a big black bar running across the top of the screen? Its really annoying as I tried to capture the end titles yesterday, but they are half way down the monitor when I play it!
I've also noticed the same thing on reports during the BBC News. Whether or not it's the same problem...

I've seen this as well. Looks like a knackered VTR that they haven't got round to fixing yet. I recall Tyne Tees had a similar problem a few years ago that took a couple of months to fix

If it's Breakfast it won't be a VTR - everything is played off a server like News 24.
Also on breakfast, at the end, as soon as the presenters stop talking the end titles play (begining music) without the piece of music they say the headlines over building up to it. Why?
Yes. I've noticed that on Breakfast and on BBC News. They fade into the music now instead of starting from the beginning! Its really quite annoying, for us lot!

Yes, I've noticed this too - but I suppose they do it so they don't get a loud thunderclap over the presenter speaking if he/she has not finished by the titles start time. Maybe they need to adapt to have a build up music (as per BBC World?) and not started with a thunderclap....
I also remember a time when they would display the stings of the 1 and 6 for longer, but now they fade to the studio as soon as they possibly can! Whats happened, have some people from Look East Close Up moved to the National Gallery??!!

When the new news from the BBC first started in May two years ago the sidebar was slighly different. Does anyone know why is was changed? I think it was changed in July 1999.
