Digital Spy are reporting this. Thought it quite interesting. Anyone have any more on this?

The BBC has launched an investigation into claims that companies have paid large sums of money in order to have their products featured on BBC shows.

A report in the Sunday Times claimed that businesses paid tens of thousands of pounds to "brand placement" agencies who were then able to ensure that certain products were shown on BBC TV programmes.

In a statement, the corporation said that an "immediate investigation" has been launched, noting that breaches of its "clear guidelines about product placement" are taken "extremely seriously."
