I don't like Stephen Cole.  He always seems half-asleep when he presents and he sometimes mumbles and/or doesn't speak loud enough so I have to strain to here him.

He is an excellent anchor, he is a totally relaxed character, in fact BBC News 24 can do with a person like him!

BBC World seemed 'back to normal' on Monday between 6-9, becuase this was when Breakfast was simulcasting on BBC ONE and BBC NEWS 24, therefore BBC World studio was not needed. Darren filled in instead.

Why Stephen Cole and Nik Gowing and other BBC World presenters' pictures were taken in BBC News 24 Studio?

I think N24 have an even better presenter in Bill Turnbull. He's brill
I personally don't like Cole - he's arrogant

Do any of the BBC World presenters ever appear on BBC One?
I presume many of them started off at BBC One News, be it as a reporter or otherwise, although I know some have come from CNN and Sky.

Did Nik Gowing ever present BBC One News, or has he always been at World?

BBC World website Contains presenter biogs.

Philip Hayton, who also presents Saturday afternoons on BBC News 24, was the main presenter on the BBC One O'Clock News for quite a while.

Lyce Doucet was a correspondent for the BBC in the Middle East and Africa before moving to BBC World as a presenter.

Adrian Finighan has also appeared on BBC One - both in-vision when he has presented Newsroom South East on occasions - and out of vision as a continuity announcer and voice-over artist. (He was the voice of the Blankety Blank Cheque Book and Pen, as well as being the main BBC World presentation voice!)

Phillip Hayton used to present the One O'Clock News on BBC1 a while ago.  I don't understand why the beeb have stuck him on World for one of the late-night shifts.  He's one of the best presenter's I've seen and has a great sense of humour!  (He's on during the 6.00/7.00 pm ET programme shown on BBC America/PBS)

Phillip also presided over the 'Six' with Sue Lawley for a while after the One O'clock.  Truly great presenter.  Perhaps the pressure of doing the flagship news program got too much for him?

Alek, do you have any screen grabs of him presenting on BBC America?  Would love to see that.

Just how popular is BBC America over there?

Can you get BBC World in the UK and if so, how?

If you have a dish pointing at 13 East (analogue) or 26.5 East (digital), yes. Otherwise, only the bits of the joint service overnight and when N24 breaks down! Very Happy

So it doesn't come on Sky or ONdigital. That seems a real pitty as I always watch BBC World when travelling and I really like it.
