I have just watched the edition of Question Time that I taped on Thursday evening, and I am shocked and VERY angry at the BBC for even allowing it to be broadcast.
It was nothing but a studio filled with anti-American low-lifes who care about nothing but themselves. These were not the views of Britain at all - I am shocked and really disgusted at the BBC, they are as bad as the terrorists. How dare they pollute the good name of British broadcasting with this evil and senseless crap.
Question Time is meerly based on the opinions of a select few. There's always going to be people who disagree with the issues rasied in the programme. Remember, the opinions are not the BBC's opinions. I wouldn't bother complaining, it won't get you anywhere.
Well the programme is live (and 4:3 YAY) so how were they supposed to know what they were going to say? If it was recorded I doubt it would have been shown unedited as those comments would be very offensive to some people.
Most QT's are recorded 'as live', that is to say what you see is exactly what happened, with no editing. This one as you say was live, to be able to react to the on-going story. The only time they are edited is for timing purposes and if there was a technical cock-up, which is rare.
I don't see why you feel like that Jamez. You're going back to the homophobe debate we all had a while back. This is a free country and everybody has freedom of speech with democrating discussions. If no-one is allowed to hear all viewpoints surely that's censorship?
Don't get me wrong - I feel the same at this moment in time... how on earth can people think like that right now, but then again you can't stop people talking openly about their viewpoints

100's of people already have complained. It's not that the opinions are of the BBC, it's whether the BBC should have been giving these people a platform to air their American hatred so soon after the event and whilst many people are still missing under the rubble.
Do you think that now the USA has launched an all out war on those who support terroism, they will stop American businessmen supporting the IRA?

Don't forget that the atrocities in New York were an assault on all democratic loving people who believe in free speech.
It is that free speech which was shown on the Question Time programme. It may not have made easy viewing and the timing probably was not the most appropriate but we must remember that we are lucky to live in a society where people can express their views - whatever they may be.
The terrorists tried to destroy this freedom - we must not let them.

Also the Talebhan (sp??)
Also PLO
etc...
Harder than you realise to stop that sort of thing I guess. But it's very clear that US, UK, NATO, Russia, China etc want terrorism stopped. And to not only say 'we will attack the group of animals who have done this terrible act' but also the country who don't mind them being in their country also says a lot about the seriousness of what will shortly be happening.
Scary

Exactly. It would be very easy for these attacks to be used as an excuse to remove even more of our freedom. ******** was ruminating on the possibility of ID Cards the other day. Let's safeguard the free world by, er, making it less free! Oh dear (to put it mildly).
ID cards are nothing new - the idea has been around for years. The idea was to have your National Security number & photo with date of birth on credit-type-cards.
Civil Liberties folk were in uproar, and so it just ended up being your National Security number.
Then an EU directive insisted that driving licenses should have photos on them which has happened too.
Credit Card companys want to put your photo onto their cards for added security - some already are.
Most big companies have ID cards with your photo on also.
So in a sense we already have ID cards.
But wouldn't it be wonderful if all these cards were incorporated into just one card? That way you could lose your whole identity during a drunken evening when your wallet gets pinched!
I partly agree with Steve about the freedom of speech, but I really think that this programme was injudiciously placed. It's good to debate this, but it really was too early to do so in that kind of way.
