Probably a good thing to have on your CV as a presenter, it's not easy standing on TV talking unscripted for long periods of time.

An interesting point Inspector; a lot of shopping or travel channel presenters do seem to be exiles from regional continuity like Sally Meen, Ruth Langsford and Paul Lavers. Both roles requiring sustained live presenting.

By the same thinking, Greg Scott and his colleagues may well have started their careers doing regional IVC had they been around 20 or 30 years ago.

Interesting point.

If you live in England, yes, you'll only hear Red Bee announcers.

However, if you live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, you'll hear BBC channel directors.

BBC employees, therefore, cover a far larger geographic area, even if a smaller population.
