Just going back to the UKTV announcers, does anyone know why UKTV G2 seems to have two announcers at once who seem to have a conversation with each other during their announcements?
It's banter. Hilarious banter. Banter is funny. Enjoy the hilarious banter. It proves how accessible UKTV G2 is, duh.

I remember there used to be a woman called Alison Bowman as well (she always appeared to shout) but I think she's left as has Manju Mahli. There's also a newish woman whose name I don't really know.
I don't suppose anyone has any clips and names of the female announcers as I tend to get mixed up between them all - apart from Becky Wright who seems to stick out.
I think that their shifts are part of the whole Red Bee upheavel. Everyone in the company are going through a big change in working practices. They'll be working around the clock soon! I think they go on to 2 twelve hour shifts from this summer.
Who is that awful shouty woman who does BBC THREE?
I heard her on BBC One a few months ago - must have been emergency cover as she is NOT suited to BBC One at all!
Matthew Jackson is very good as he makes the effort to match the tone of the programme with his voice. There is one male announcer on BBC One who is far too happy when he goes in to news/serious programmes. He should use a serious tone like Matthew does.
Dean Lydiate is very good at timing idents... leaves a few seconds and then talks and then leaves a few more seconds of ident before mixing in to the next programme. A professional way of doing it rather than racing through and leaving another 7 seconds of ident like some of them do!!

Constantinis-Bunn as she's known these days.
I believe Manju Mahli still announces occasionally, I think she just does cover work these days, she was on the late shift on Christmas Eve last year.
The entry in TV Announcers is based on a BBC magazine article from December 1991 featuring "Jane Constantinis-Bunn". However, I'm sure Denton is correct. Will update the TV Announcers profile.

All of the above also appeared on BBC1 in-vision during the 80's as Newsreaders on the short local regional bulletins. ("Scottish News", but later "Reporting Scotland").
But, there was one BBC Scotland announcer who NEVER appeared in-vision doing the news, and to this day, I have no idea who he was.
Good old Duncan on form tongiht - loved his link into the National Lottery - 'Now on BBC1 we want to show you our draws' - anyone would think he was a fan of Carry on!
Meanwhile who do ITV1 have on - oh yes boring predictable Sonia.
