The question is, is there really a need to pay two presenters to front this programme?

This is not having a go at you personally, but do we have to justify any BBC programme now using more than one presenter? If the format would work better with two presenters, it can have two presenters. There are more people working on a programme than the presenters.

I know the BBC needs to cut costs, but counting the number of presenters is no way to monitor it. It's like suggesting BBC programmes should only use solo artists as musical acts to pay fewer appearance fees.

It's nothing to do with any of that. It's the fact that for every other programme of this ilk, the BBC has deemed it fine to only have Graham at the helm. Viewers have too.

It's probably more Whittingdale friendly though, encouraging people to go to see live musical theatre.

Mel and/or Sue has to be involved in all new BBC programmes, it's the law.

It's a different programme. And when Graham was doing the Lloyd Webber things, he wasn't also doing a radio show forty weeks of the year and a chat show thirty weeks of the year. Maybe he wants a co-host.
