Taking the corporate look to an EVEN more precise level doesn't sound very fun to me. I always thought BBC ONE was to the left because it's 'THE ONE'. Maybe I was wrong...

I think its good that BBC THREE broke away from a Gil Sans logo - helps to distinguish it a bit.

However the penetration of 16:9 sets is lower in the US I believe?

Significantly lower. And very very few "family-sized" sets are under $1000 now, which is sort of the magic number.

I think the boxed logo's should only be used for BBC1 -4. I think the BBC sould have kept the 1997 logo for News 24, World Service, BBCi and BBC America instead of the boxed version.

I would like to see alternative sides for the boxes instead of leaving BBC ONE alone on the left; for example: BBC ONE: LEFT; BBC TWO: RIGHT; BBC THREE: LEFT; BBC FOUR: RIGHT; CBBC (not box but logo that has appeared on a few trailers) LEFT; CBeebies (moving logo also seen on some trailers) RIGHT; NEWS 24 : LEFT; BBC PARLIAMENT: RIGHT, etc.

The boxes have merly updated the BBC look; instead of going for a whole new package and logo. I wouldnt like to see this logo go as its nice, square and can be adapted easily; unlike its predercessor.

and to think we can get a 28" widescreen here for £200.

Are all American widescreen TVs HD though? That would explain the higher price.
