1hr to go until the first An La

Oh god, what an awful launch - surely losing any of the few potential viewers it might interest by the end of the song.

And I watched the whole video. Cringe worthy.

I didn't think it was that bad TBH.

Due to the box just having BBC in, i presume bbc arabic when it adopts lambie nairn's bbc news brand will look like a fliped round version of that.

With pink instead of teal though.

IIRC, BBC Arabic has nothing to do with BBC News, so may not necessarally follow the BBC News branding.

I'm not sure what relationship An La has with BBC News.

Just for the record - there is no Welsh programming on 2W - rather Welsh-interest programmes in English.

According to Wikipaedia: of your license fee, £1.04 per month goes on Nations & Regions, and £1.00 per month goes on Digital TV. So after dividing that all up, I'd say the monthly cost of the license fee payer for BBC Alba is 12p.

I didn't realise it was the first An Là today. Here is the countdown, headlines and titles for those who are sans DSat:

And the closing sequence (the music starts quite early, and I'm sure it's not the sound on my recording that's out of sync!):

It has been confirmed that BBC Arabic will follow the latest BBC News/Lambie-Nairn branding, as well the future channel, BBC Persian. Of course, looking at An La, this is perhaps what we can expect for Arabic and Persian. I don't know about the music though.

Overall, the graphics, music and titles from An La are very good. The music fits in well, and the graphics colour scheme is very appropriate.

I agree, a very nice variation on both the visual and audio themes.

Any chance of some MP3s of that theme? It's a great piece of music. I know one was posted, but it seems to have changed since.

Interesting copyright date on the end of this - either 2009/2010? Smile

Did Lambie Nairn make those or were they courtesy of BBC Scotland's graphics department

Does anyone have video captures of the idents or promo graphics?
